A partnership envisioned to boost job opportunities in the city and creating a well-designed ecosystem for life sciences sector.
Earlier this year, Lodha launched Mumbai’s first systematically designed life sciences cluster – Lodha Lifesciences Hub, at Palava. With its first partnership with Encube Ethicals, an integrated pharmaceutical company dedicated to topical products, it is a step closer to generating a multitude of opportunities for the city while providing a well-planned ready social ecosystem to the talent from life sciences industry. With the commencement of the Bhoomi Pooja ceremony, Encube Ethicals is set to develop its flagship R&D Centre of Excellence at Palava. The 2.0 Lakh sq.ft. R&D Centre will be developed in two phases, the first of which will be ready in the next 12 months and will create more than 250 R&D-related positions in the first building.
Mehul Shah, Promoter & Managing Director - Encube Ethicals said “In Phase 1, we are investing more than 1 Billion INR (100 Crores INR) to develop an exceptional R&D centre that will be reckoned for having full-spectrum of R&D technologies in-house as well as world-class design. People—customers and employees—are at epicentre of this decision. We are committed to developing quality, efficacious, and innovative topical products for patients and consumers world-wide. For employees, Palava makes walk-to-work a reality with an integrated ecosystem on work, housing, education, and recreation. There is a conscious focus on “delight-by-design” for employees across laboratory, office, and common space to foster greater innovation and collaboration.”
Shaishav Dharia, CEO - Townships and Rental Assets, Lodha, spoke “Located in Palava, Lodha Lifesciences Hub enjoys an unmatched advantage of the ready social ecosystem built on the model of work-live-learn-play. For a city like Mumbai, with the maximum talent, it is imperative to retain them by giving them areas of residence near their workplaces. For the first time in Mumbai Metropolitan Region, we are developing a well-planned ecosystem dedicated to the life sciences industry, which the city has always lacked. Within the following year, Encube Ethicals R&D Centre of Excellence will be ready, paving the path for further pharma-centric developments in the region.”
Lodha Lifesciences Hub at Palava spans 25 acres and provides full-stack solutions with 100% compliant R&D facilities, separate storage units, and dedicated support infrastructure benchmarked to the highest standards. Built on the core principles of ESG, it provides a host of ecosystem benefits, with all the requisite government approvals in place.
In line with Lodha’s commitment to fostering growth and contributing towards a larger goal of nation-building, Encube Ethicals’ R&D Centre of Excellence will be one of its kind in India. With an integrated focus on science, people and process capabilities it will further provide a host of job opportunities in the city.
