“The initial brief we received was to create an opulent space showcasing luxurious materials,” shares Priyanka Mehra. Known for her ability to transform client aspirations into tangible, breath-taking designs, Priyanka begins every project by drawing inspiration from the individuals who will live there.

“For us, each project is unique, and the first inspiration always comes from the client. The most important thing is that the occupants feel at home,” she explains. This ethos serves as the foundation for an extraordinary residence, where every detail has been meticulously planned to balance grandeur with a sense of belonging.

Priyanka’s love for colour takes centre stage in this apartment. “I can use the entire crayon box if you give it to me,” she says, describing her vibrant approach to design. Yet, her execution is far from overwhelming. The apartment features a palette of muted yet striking tones—blues, greens, pinks and yellows—that bring warmth and personality to each room.

• The Den: This multifunctional space is enveloped in a serene blue theme, offering a retreat for work, relaxation or entertainment.

• The Daughter’s Room: Delicate pinks with accents of mint and yellow create a playful yet sophisticated haven.

• The Guest Bedroom: Warm burnt oranges and sage green provide a welcoming and cosy atmosphere.

This thoughtful use of colours is paired with a neutral base, ensuring harmony throughout this luxury home in Mumbai while allowing each room to stand out with its distinctive character.

At the heart of the living room lies a 20-foot feature wall, a stunning testament to the marriage of form and function. Crafted with resin and brass inlays, the wall is not only an aesthetic marvel but also a functional masterpiece. Hidden within its sleek panels are doors leading to a powder room, kitchen, bar and crockery unit.

“It’s not just a pattern,” Priyanka notes. “Every panel has a function, and all these elements marry so beautifully. It’s a cohesive language that speaks volumes.”

The master bedroom of this flat in Worli continues this narrative of seamless design. The inlay patterns from the corridor flow effortlessly into the ceiling and bed back, creating a sense of continuity. The design translates structural elements, like columns, into art, blurring the lines between architecture and décor.

The den is a jewel of the home—a space wrapped entirely in handmade grass cloth wallpaper with brass rivets. This tactile, earthy material brings warmth and texture, while the brass rivets add a touch of elegance. A bone-inlay console serves as a versatile piece, functioning as a study desk or a display for curated decor.

This room exemplifies Priyanka’s belief that every space should tell a story. Whether it’s the play of textures or the functionality of the furnishings, the den is as beautiful as it is practical.
