A Culinary Extravaganza at Lodha Belmondo

Food fanatics like me are always on a look-out for experimenting and exploring new places that serve finely crafted food. My recent weekend sojourn was to a luxury weekend retreat - Lodha Belmondo.  This place is not very far from Mumbai, but close enough to meet peace of nature without having to compromise on the benefits of Mumbai.

Great Food with a Perfect View!

Lodha Belmondo hosts multiple spaces that offer the perfect food with a perfect view. Situated on the banks of Pavana river, this resort boasts of its own 'Organic Farm' from where most of the herbs and vegetables are sourced for the preparations. This 'farm to table' concept just blows you away as what you eat is made with the finest home grown ingredients. How healthier can it get?

After soaking in the beauty of this incredible place I headed to the poolside Juice Bar where one can admire the open greens while relishing some lip-smacking preparations. I thoroughly enjoyed the high tea spread of fancy tea cakes, desserts and a variety of coffees. Indulging in some chocolate vegan cookies and the nutritious seed crunch bars in this setting was a delight. The "Petit Four" was the winner here that comprised of pastries, rolls, cookies and brownies.

For the green geeks, there are some amazing salad options like the tomato and bocconcini basil salad or the quinoa salad with pignoil and a citrus aerial dressing.

Global Cuisine Delight

There is a sumptuous grande restaurant here by the name of 'Edgewood'.  With cuisines from across the globe, Edgewood truly takes you 'off the edge' with its gourmet dishes. Chef Akhil Ranjan has given a healthy quirky spin to the otherwise regular meals. The ambience of the restaurant is simple yet classy with luxurious seating. The interiors are at par with the best 5-star hotels. There is also a section for private semi-outdoor seating with spectacular views of the golf course.

The menu here is carefully curated to suit the taste buds of all, be it a traditional Thali, an Italian spread or Thai food. The Edgewood Thai was authentically presented. The variety of colors was a visual treat. Then there was Parsley risotto which you cannot stop spooning because of the gooey cheese. The creamy mushroom soup was accompanied with a collection of rustic breads and lavash sticks. The highlight was the unconventional Japanese dish - Okonomiyaki and the Red Thai curry with fragrant jasmine rice. For all the Asian food lovers, this is a must try.

Sweet Tooth Cravings
Can a meal be ever complete without something sweet? I totally indulged in the 'healthy' chocolate brownie that was made from buckwheat flour. Here there are healthy substitutes for every 'not so healthy ingredients'.

Keeping aside the biases towards the tastiest wholesome food I had here, Lodha Belmondo is the perfect place for a scenic weekend that will leave you asking for more! A 100-acre property with 90 acres of lush greenery, Belmondo offers everything you would want for your weekends.
